Review: Super Hexagon

Super Hexagon #1

SONGS OF INNOCENCE

A new game from Terry Cavanagh, launching at 69p and available on Android – the platform upon which I’m slowly assembling a small library of decent games?

Don’t mind if I do, Super Hexagon.

Oh my. What a charming package you look. The bold, simple gradients and colours – yes, this is reminescent of Cavanagh’s previous titles.

I think I’m going to enjoy this.

I’ll start on the first stage. A touch suspicious that it’s labelled ‘Hard’, but this is a game by the man who made VVVVVV, a platform game only out fuck-with-you’d by Super Meat Boy, I Wanna Be The Guy and those Super Mario Bros mods made by sociopaths.

I wouldn’t expect Super Hexagon to be easy. Ha ha! That would be stupid.
