Excuse the censorship of the title there. I’m conscious some readers may be stuck at work or school, and I pity them.
I’ve noticed today that some pages on the site are displaying unwanted adverts on some words of the site. This sickens me – as the proprietor of an entirely ad-free site – and I was horrified to discover their presence. I initially suspected the site had been hacked, but apparently this is something more sinister: it’s a piece of adware that inserts itself via cookies into your browser.
More info as we learn more – and you’d better believe that we’ll disable this shit if we can – but in the meantime here’s a link explaining how to turn them off.
For some reason they’re still displaying for me, and I’m not sure why. I’ll try and figure out more and turn this nonsense off as soon as I can. In the meantime I must eat pie and sleep. Apologies, readers. I am only a puny human.

Yeah, it does seem to be a user/browser issue, but it was affecting me at home and I was running adblock, so I was suspicious that something had squirted its way into WordPress again.
I'm going to investigate further as soon as I have time…
